“Orpheus”

Orpheus kept me sane through the summer and fall of 2020, when my worklife was often overwhelming. Just 30 minutes in the evening working on some of the 1200 suckers or placing colors (top colors were made entirely of cut and placed acrylic paint skins made separately), while listening to good music (hence his name "Orpheus") was an important part of my day and helped rejuvenate body, mind, and soul.

Making some of those 1200 suckers was also a fantastic task to do during the oh-so-many Zoom meetings from that time. I could keep my hands busy and no one on the Zoom could see what I was working on.

The beginning steps shaping and stabilizing the legs was ridiculous to behold, for sure. Thank goodness there were no visitors to the studio right now because of Covid…they'd have thought I was out of my mind.

Sometimes I wondered the same thing....Lol

Do you agree?
Craziness!
Whomever created these magnificent creatures I think had a sense of humor.

Once he was finished, I put him on the floor to take some pictures. I must say, I was feeling as though he was going to start crawling across the floor.

I had to go out and run and errand, so I left Orpheus on the carpet. I made a mental note of his location. If he wasn’t exactly where I left him upon my return…um, well…I’d be outta here!

But no, he stayed put. And he happily stays put wherever I place him in the studio.

He, like other creatures I’ve made, watches over newer in-progress studio projects. And honestly, during the pandemic, it was very nice to have some critters about to talk to as I worked!
